Why Mango Bay

A boutique BVI wedding venue on the beach

Mango Bay is 19 beachfront villas, suites and studios on Virgin Gorda, set among lush tropical gardens along a calm, clear bay. It's an easy, unhurried place to gather the people you love: close enough to feel like one party, with room for everyone to slip away to their own patio when the day is done.

Your guests wake up steps from the sand, snorkel in the bay before breakfast and meet again at sunset. And from December 2026, The Drop Off, our café, bar and restaurant at the rebuilt dock, gives you a place by the water for dinners, drinks and dancing.

Getting married in the BVI

Simple, and recognised in the UK

The British Virgin Islands is a British Overseas Territory, so a BVI marriage is recognised in the UK. The paperwork is straightforward:

  1. Arrive on island and settle in.
  2. After 1 day in the BVI, apply together for a special licence in Road Town, Tortola.
  3. Marry at Mango Bay. We recommend a wedding stay of 3 nights or more so there's time for the licence.
