Our story
Mango Bay Resort
Mango Bay is one of the few true beach and reef front resorts on Virgin Gorda. It was built in the mid-1980s by the late Aldo Moretti, a pioneer of BVI hospitality, and run by him and his family for many years.
Today Mango Bay belongs to Keith Newton and his family, the Newtons from Australia, who have owned a holiday villa on Virgin Gorda for more than 12 years and now live on the island with Keith's partner, Sally. Their aim is simple: keep the quiet, uncluttered, personal stay Mango Bay is known for, while upgrading the resort for guests and the wider Mango Bay community.

Mango Bay has 19 rooms, from studios to one and two bedroom suites and villas, set in tropical gardens along the beach on Plum Bay Road. The sea is only steps away.
- Check-in from 3 pm, check-out by 10:30 am.
- Minimum stay of 2, 3 or 5 nights, depending on the season.
- Uninterrupted sunsets over the water.
What's new
Investing in Mango Bay
- The new dock. Destroyed by Hurricane Irma and now rebuilt, so guests can arrive by water taxi straight to the resort, join local sightseeing and dive trips, or tie up their own or chartered boats.
- The Drop Off. A new café, bar and restaurant at the dock, open to guests, villa owners and the public. Opening December 2026.
- Ongoing upgrades. The villas, beach toys, gardens, car parks, laundry and poolside bathrooms are all being refreshed, along with the resort's utilities and service areas.
Our team
Looked after by people who know the island
Ashley Golder is our General Manager and looks after every stay, from your first enquiry to the day you leave. She leads a long-standing team, including Daisy, Maria and Rey, who give Mango Bay its warm, friendly service.
Our on-site villa specialists, Ruby and Reinhard, are on hand around the clock. Ruby greets arrivals and hosts the villas, and Reinhard leads maintenance.
