The Baths Virgin Gorda: snorkelling and beach guide

A practical guide to The Baths, Devil's Bay and the island's best snorkelling, from your base at Mango Bay.

The Baths, Virgin Gorda

Granite boulders, rock pools and Devil's Bay

At Virgin Gorda's south-western tip, The Baths is a jumble of huge granite boulders, some up to 40 feet across, with white sand beaches and hidden rock pools. A trail with steps, ladders and rope handrails leads through the boulders to Devil's Bay, a horseshoe bay that's lovely for swimming and snorkelling. Or walk straight down from the car park: about 15 minutes.

  • Open 8:30 am to 4:30 pm daily; don't enter the caves after 4:30 pm
  • Bathrooms and lockers on site
  • Wear water shoes: you'll crawl, climb and wade

Plan the afternoon

The caves close to visitors at 4:30 pm, so leave time to walk back through the boulders.
