Getting away from it all is as much part of modern life as late nights at the office and rush hour traffic.  We crave the occasional return to essentials, if only to remind ourselves what the essentials really are.  Escape is the necessary flip side of modern existence.  When we do travel we want everything perfect, and of course we all have our own idea of what constitutes the perfect escape. 
 

There are two kinds of Caribbean Islands.  One plays host to cruise ships and their clientele, who travel in packs and display excessive fondness for duty-free shopping, or cluster themselves in gigantic pools and casinos.
